Play Something New Demo Night - Tir Na Nog

Play Something New with us every Friday night!

Our Play Something New board game demo nights are a perfect opportunity to relax, learn a new game, and get involved with our ever-growing board gaming community! We will be featuring and teaching a different game each week.

Here’s How It Works:

Sign up for a Demo: We will have several tables of game demos for our Featured Game running from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm. Demo experiences will last around 30 minutes and will go over the basic rules of the game and several turns of play. Games may be limited to a certain number of turns/ rounds to allow for everyone to get a seat at a demo throughout the night. Demo sign-ups will cut off at 8:30.

Sale and Raffles: Our Featured Game will be on sale for 20% off during the event for anyone who participated in a demo! In addition, some open copies of the game will be raffled off once the demos are finished for the night.

Open Board Gaming: In addition to the demo…..hang out and play! Tables will be available for open board gaming until our Game Room closes up (around 9:45 pm). Bring some games with you to play or get in on a game with other board gamers. In addition, we will have some open copies of popular board games on hand to try during the event!

Cost: The cost for the event is a $10 “Credit Swap” (you’ll get $10 in store credit back with your entry!)

Tonight’s Featured Game: Tir Na Nog

Tír na nÓg Cover Artwork

"In the Irish myth cycles, the land of Tír na nÓg is the realm of the Otherworld, the place where the Fairies lived and heroes visited on quests. It was a place just outside the realm of man, off to the west, where there was no illness or death or time, but only happiness and beauty.

The golden path to Tír na nÓg is open once more, and the greatest Celtic storytellers have gathered for a once-in-a-lifetime journey. When they return, they'll bring with them tales of the creatures they met and the adventures they lived. Over time those stories will become a saga — and the most epic saga will live on forever.

Journey to the Otherworld in Tír na nÓg by placing storytellers between story cards in the shared grid. When all storytellers have been placed, in reverse player order draft cards and add them to your hand. From your hand, you'll then add cards to your personal tableau: one card to hand, one card played. At the end of five rounds, score each row according to the rules on its corresponding goal card, and earn points for having the most connected story cards of each color. The highest score wins." - BGG
